Let the Children Come
At Genesis, we believe that faith can be formed in the early years of life and we take seriously Jesus’s invitation: “Let the children come to me.”
Our desire is to create spaces where kids can encounter who God is and begin to discover that God is trustworthy. We take the long view of faith development, knowing that following Jesus is a life-long journey.
God's Story
We see the Bible as God’s story—revealing God’s character, heart, and what matters most. Through Scripture, children are invited, not just to learn about God, but to get to know God. As children encounter God’s character and faithfulness—through the stories of Scripture and the lives of those around them—they begin to respond naturally. Rather than leading with obedience, we believe lasting obedience grows out of relationship and trust.
Wonder and Curiosity
We emphasize wonder and curiosity as the foundation of spiritual formation. That’s why each week we ask simple but meaningful questions like, “What do you learn about God from this story?” We encourage kids to listen for how God might be speaking to them, to notice the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit, and to respond in ways that reflect who they were created to be. We encourage responses that reflect God’s character.
Part of a Community
We want church to be a place kids love—a place that is joyful, engaging, and safe. A place where they feel known, valued, and part of a community learning to follow Jesus together. Because when children experience belonging, joy, and trust, they are far more open to experiencing God.
